Counselor in Training (CIT) Program

Overview

Welcome to Camp Eureka’s Counselor in Training (CIT) Program! We invite rising juniors and seniors (2025-2026 school year) to join us as support volunteers and counselors in training. Our goal is to ensure each camper has a dynamic and fun-filled summer while gaining valuable leadership and professional skills.

Role and Responsibilities

Support Certified Teachers

Provide hands-on assistance in STEM workshops, always under the supervision of certified adult teachers

Team Support

Paired with a team of four students to aid in instruction and activities

Support Certified Teachers

Fun Hour Supervision

Ensure safety and inclusion during recreational activities, adding an extra layer of supervision

Professional Development

Participate in teacher training sessions and receive leadership training

CPR Training

All CITs will be certified in CPR

We accept up to 90 hours from external volunteer services done in schools, churches, or communities

Pre-Camp Volunteer Tasks

Students wishing to go for the Gold can begin volunteer services as soon as they are accepted as a CIT. Camp Eureka offers numerous pre-camp volunteer tasks to help students reach their goal marks for Gold or Silver

Letters of Recommendation

We provide letters of recommendation to CITs who demonstrate outstanding and responsible volunteer service that supports our mission to ensure a high-quality and safe learning opportunity for our campers

Camp Sessions

We offer four sessions throughout the summer in Massachusetts. CITs are required to work the full two sessions due to the amount of training involved. They are welcome to work all four sessions if they wish to go for the Gold.
